How Do You Conduct a Bottle Burst Test?

PET bottles provide a number of benefits over other types of bottles, such as glass. They are break-resistant, lightweight, and non-reactive as compared to other products. From storing soft drinks to other pressurized beverages, these PET bottles have a variety of applications that makes them the top choice for companies to store the product. But what if your bottle will get bursts in the middle of the transportation or shipping process? Testing the bursting strength of bottles is a necessity for PET bottle manufacturers.

But what if your bottle will get bursts in the middle of the transportation or shipping process? Testing the bursting strength of bottles is a necessity for PET bottle manufacturers. Thus, we at Presto have come up with one of the amazing testing equipment known as bottle burst tester that is helpful in testing the strength and quality of the PET bottles, cans, and packs that are used in CSD lines of carbonated drinks.

You will be able to check the sustainability of bottles with the help of this lab testing equipment. Now, let us discuss the importance of bottle burst testers in the PET bottle industry.

Introduction about bottle burst tester and why you should conduct it?

PET bottles are non-reactive and operate as a robust barrier against water, moisture, light, and other environmental conditions. PET bottles are considered to be the beverage industry's preferred product of packaging. Inside PET packaging, both carbonated and non-carbonated drinks are safe. But what makes them so trustworthy? Depending on the expected working conditions, different industries undertake different testing methods. One of the widely used tests that will help to assure the quality of PET bottles is the bottle burst test.

This quality test plays a major role in preventing the bursting of pressurized bottles. You can test the bottles before delivering the final product to the customers. Prior to bottle bursting strength testing, a bottle burst tester is used to evaluate the strength of the bottles by putting too much pressure within them until they explode. With the use of this test, the maximum amount of pressure a bottle can withstand can be calculated, and a high-quality PET bottle may be constructed before adding a beverage, chemical, or liquid. Thus, with the use of this lab testing equipment, you can easily prevent the bottles from getting burst.

Steps to easily commence test with Presto bottle burst tester

The Digital Bottle burst tester is a highly precise and accurate testing instrument offered by Presto. This fully pneumatic system will be useful for exerting air pressure on the bottles. An auto pressure hold facility is provided with the machine which helps in holding the pressure for a specific time. Whenever you are going to conduct the test with the help of a bottle burst tester, then you need to set the value and change the time parameters. After setting all necessary parameters, then you need to place the specimen accurately on this lab testing instrument.

Below we have listed the steps to commence the test with the help of a bottle burst tester.

  • Plugin the mains lead to an electrical socket of 3 pin-5 Amp configuration.
  • Using a pressure regulator, set the test pressure not exceeding 18kg/cm2 and the desired test time through a timer. (Pressure regulator under customer scope).
  • Push the start button from the control panel.
  • SET the required time using Digital Timer. When the SET pressure will be achieved, the timer will be started automatically.
  • When the SET time will be complete, Test pressure will be released automatically.
  • If the bottle burst then the user can stop the test manually using the stop button.
  • The alarm will buzz on completion of the test.

In this way, you can easily commence the test with the help of this lab testing instrument.
